One hallmark of real quality is that it requires few words. A perfect weld joint is not a sensation, just good craftsmanship. And a good ship is not a wonder of the world, just a symbol of technological and technical creativity.

Quality management

Our high international reputation has been built on quality since the very first days of Blohm+Voss. Like other Hanseatic traditions, such as absolute punctuality and reliability, it is an uncompromising gauge of success. The competitive advantages of our constructions, developments and products always show themselves in the successes of our clients. We therefore learned at a very early stage to make everything perfectly. This principle applies to every individual employee, and to our suppliers and collaborative partners.

Besides the original, coveted quality factor “Made by Blohm+Voss”, all our services, deliveries and manufacturing steps are based on binding principles of quality and certifications. Our integrated quality management guarantees that our customers can regard all assignments as secure investments. This also applies in the international context of our projects, where one important factor on which success depends is for different and/or market-specific demands to be reconciled with our processes.

For us, a standardised form of measurable and predictable quality is a matter of course. This has grown out of tradition and our sense of responsibility for our yard and the measurable success of our customers. Blohm+Voss is certified according to the following standards of quality:

ISO 9001 – Quality management system
ISO 14001 – Environment management system
OSAHS 18001 – Occupational protection management system
SCC – Health, safety and environment management system

Furthermore, all our actions are guided by the Blohm+Voss Corporate Policy, where we have set our objectives concerning the management, quality issues, employees, and associated companies:
