Whether during the cruising season or between seasons, time windows for servicing and repairs are small. We are perfectly attuned to this. We have established our specialist Maintenance department in order to assure the availability and operational safety of your ships at all times, anywhere. The service areas of this department are divided into two deployment fields:
1. Remote maintenance and mobile repair service
Using the most up-to-date remote monitoring systems, we always have an eye on the status of the engines in our customers’ ships. If an impending operational risk should come to light, we organise the immediate provision of materials and specialists, and provide the necessary technical services at the nearest available port. A scheduled stop is all that is required, and the lifespan of your ship is extended.
For all unforeseeable technical problems or defects, our customers can rely on the Blohm+Voss »Flying Squad«. This team of highly specialised repairers, who operate worldwide, can reach any location on Earth, whether at sea or in port, within 24 hours. From fitting or removing an engine or drive shaft to overhauling a cylinder or carrying out structural steel work or electrical work, our »mobile yard« masters the most complex task at the usual high Blohm+Voss quality.
2. Maintenance and repairs at Hamburg
For all scheduled dock work, even with great pressure of time, we have for many years offered our customers the best technical, spatial and logistical conditions right here in Hamburg. Cruise ships of all sizes are expertly and speedily made ready for the new season at our yard.
Thanks to our wide-ranging expertise in project management, we are able, for instance, to plan, coordinate and execute other jobs of all kinds while maintenance work is ongoing. Time in dock and service times are thus minimised without compromising on the requisite Blohm+Voss quality.
